SKIN CARE: Botox, Restylane, Aquamid, Perlane
What makes a good candidate.
Aging, heredity, sun exposure, and lifestyle factors including nutrition,
alcohol consumption and smoking all contribute to facial wrinkling.
Pigmentary changes of the skin may occur with age or as a result of
birth control pills, pregnancy or genetic factors. Prior acne may have
made the surface of your skin uneven. Skin conditions may be improved
by skin resurfacing techniques using chemical peels, lasers, BOTOX®, Restylane, Aquamid,
and/or various forms of soft tissue facial fillers. Experienced aesthetician
services are available for more superficial care and maintenance of
your skin.
Skin resurfacing can be performed at almost any age. Recovery time
may be an important factor in selecting a particular resurfacing method
or determining the extent of treatment. All resurfacing techniques can
be performed to varying depths. Superficial treatments will require
less healing time, but you may need to have the procedure repeated more
than once to achieve the same results as a deeper treatment. During
a cosmetic surgery such as a facelift or eyelid surgery, you may have
a skin resurfacing procedure performed as well.

Aquamid® - Permanent Facial Filler
Aquamid® can erase smile lines, plump lips, give back full round cheeks, smooth out jowls, and even fix contour irregularities of the nose – like Restylane® and Juvederm® but permanently!
Aquamid® is a unique soft volume filler that immediately gives a beautiful look and natural feel. It is a biocompatible, non-allergenic, non-absorbable hydrogel consisting of 97.5% water and 2.5% cross-linked polyacrylamide (similar to a microscopic sponge). Because of it’s extremely high water content, Aquamid® integrates easily and naturally with the body’s own tissue. This property also minimizes its tendency to migrate from the injection site, a common problem with many other fillers.
Aquamid® has been on the market for over 14 years within Europe and S. America and its efficacy and safety has been documented in several clinical trials involving more than 1,000 patients and more than 300,000 injections performed. Data from 5-year follow-up shows over 90% continued patient satisfaction and stable results. As with any facial filler, adverse events related to the treatment were mostly mild transient local reactions such as redness and swelling which resolved within 48-72 hours. In rare cases, local infections occurred and were resolved with antibiotic therapy.
Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. Stanton has six (6) years experience working with Aquamid® and maintains a close inter-relationship with the manufacturing company Contura. Because of this he is considered to be a local and national expert on Aquamid®. |
