Breast Augmentation Recovery Day 1 to 60

You are 60 days away from the breasts of your dreams. Breast augmentation surgery can quickly transform the size and shape of your breasts. By placing implants into the breasts, Dr. Ryan Stanton can create a full and rounded breast size while boosting your cup size. Whether you want a little more oomph or a massively curvy makeover, breast implants can create your ideal shape in about two months.

Surgery day is the start of your transformation. Over the next 60 days, your breasts will undergo many changes as your body heals and adjusts to your new breast implants. Here’s what to expect in the first 60 days after breast augmentation with Dr. Stanton.

Surgery Day

Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, so you’ll be ready to return home on the afternoon of your surgery. As anesthesia can make you groggy, you’ll need someone to drive you home. Your chest will be wrapped in bandaging. You may feel tired, tender, and nauseous; Dr. Stanton’s advanced surgical and recovery protocols minimize side effects after surgery.

Day After Surgery

You’ll return to see Dr. Stanton a day or two after your surgery. We will remove your bandages and you can see your new breasts for the first time. You’ll need to wear a post-surgery bra for the first few weeks.

Your breasts may be swollen, bruised, and tender. Pain medications will help you rest comfortably so your body can heal.

Days 3-7

You’ll feel a lot better just a few days after breast surgery. If you’re feeling up to it, you can resume driving (if you’re no longer using prescription pain medications).

Take it slowly as you return to your daily activities. You can resume showering and take gentle walks.

Days 7-14

A week after breast augmentation, you’ll be back to many of your favorite activities. Many patients return to work and other activities like socializing or gentle housework.

Your arms may be sore and be difficult to lift. We’ll teach you exercises to extend your range of motion so that you can comfortably lift your arms over your head.

14 Days (2 Weeks) After Breast Augmentation

If you’ve missed working out and are anxious to return to the gym, two weeks after surgery marks a big milestone. Many patients are cleared to resume lower body exercises.

You may feel tingling and itchiness as your breasts continue to heal.

28 Days (4 Weeks) After Breast Augmentation

By 4 weeks post-surgery, many women are almost back to full activity. You can start gentle arm exercises but take it slowly. It will take several weeks to build back to your pre-surgery exercise regimen. Avoid running until at least 6 weeks post-surgery and make sure to wear a supportive bra.

6-8 Weeks After Breast Augmentation

At around 60 days post-breast augmentation, most women are delighted by their new shape and ready to show it off. Grab your bikini and hit the sand at your favorite Los Angeles beach. Your breasts will continue to heal, and your breast size and shape will still change slightly, but after 60 days, most patients have no activity restrictions.
